For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?

Mark 8:36
Ponte Trucha is a common term used in the calles and barrios from long ago, and still used amongst the gente today. It can be translated to mean You'd Better Watch Out, Keep Your Head Up, Be Alert. It carries with it the connotation that you need to be watching your back at all times because you don't know what's coming.
Ponte Trucha is something that has been soaked in prayer. It is not simply a ministry, nor holistically a business. It is a project of sorts. A means in which God has provided us a way into the barrios which have existed for generations, that carry with it its own set of rules and standards. A way in which we can take our love for lowriders and bombs, for the barrio, for our gente, and for our cultura, and present to you a God that is wanting to meet you where you're at. A God that desires a deep and intimate relationship with you. A God who will take you just as you are and use it for good, for His glory. God has made a way for us, through Ponte Trucha, to show you that He is a God of the present, not only of the past. A God who is not a respecter of persons or of religion. A God that is not contained in a church or a prayer. A God that has not asked us to rid ourselves of our identity, but has used it for His honor and His glory. Our God is a God of Salvation. He is a God of forgiveness. A God who has come not to condemn, but to set us free from our sin. He is a God that is using our love for the neighborhood to bring a message of hope.
We are not asking for money or fame. We do not want to be known or to be be made known. We simply desire to bring to you that which has transformed our lives. The reason for the hope that lies within us. Out of love for the gente, our desire is to make you alert, aware of what exists outside of our own human satisfactions. And so we say to you, Ponte Trucha, Watch Out!, there's more to life than what you've been living for.
